I did that stupid road in a car with 17" mags and hard springs, didn't realise how it was gravel, nor how long the bastard was! So isolated too! I managed to stop and take a piss in the middle of the...path? road? meh not a lot of traffic anyways haha

    Red face yep

I went over the tapu to coroglen road on a Honda VTX 1800, with my daughter on the back a few years ago. I've never been so happy to see a pub in all my life

I met the Coroglen to Tapu road in 1980. Not long arrived from the UK and went up the Coromandel in the VW Kombi. Found the road (by accident) and took off down it. I remember saying to the wife "I wonder what 'Road Open' means?" It was too fookin' narrow to turn round or I'd have gone back
