I had a k7 600-loved it. Got a k9 750-outstanding bike-dropped one tooth at the front-awesome. Just got a near new k7 600 and modified it with revalved suspension, pcv, akra,-1+2 on the sprockets.V focussed bike. 750 probably better on the open road but not such a fun wee bike as this. Fuel consumption on the 600 was shocking until I got a custom dyno tune into it.....

Uses less gas than my 8fiddly 2 pot. I should step into the light but the old & familiar would be sorely missed. An I don't thing a 7fiddly GSXR would be much chop on gravel. Need a bigger shed.

I find it quicker and easier to note the odometer reading at each fill and work out consumption from there.

Average on the 600 is around 40 mpg (7 l/100km). It does depend on how crazy the ride is. On a long cruisy pootle down country it can get close to 50 mpg (5.65l/100km). On a twisty road it might drop to 38 mpg (7.4l/100km).

Some of the figures I read for the 750's seem optimistic to me given what the 600 manages. I doubt I'd manage to average 42 mpg somehow...

Yeah I just fill up once it gets low. My throttle management system is fried so my fuel consumption is a little high. I guess theoretically it should get maybe 250-300km to a tank, however I don't run it down to the reserve and referring back to the throttle management being pretty poor. Actually if it's an 18L tank and I'm say filling up 11-14L then there is still a good 4-7L left in the tank hmm

That's pretty much what I get on my 1997 600 SRAD.

Yeah it's pretty cool, Sergei uses it religiously.

That seems very high, I am managing a consistent 5.5 - 6l/100km on the ZX6R and that's with quite a lot of spirited riding. Other 08 GSXR600's seem to average low to mid 5s.

They can't be trying hard enough...

EDIT: There could be a couple of reasons for this. I had the O2 sensor disconnected a while ago to stop the problems it caused at certain revs. This pushed the consumption up - not a lot but measurable. I also use the gearbox a lot and like to keep the revs high - where the powah is hiding....

Having said that, even on a long cruise, I only manage around 5.6 l/100km max.
