What Now are Right Wing Capitalists

This morning, just like always I couldn't be stuffed doing anything so I turn the TV on and watch What Now. Sad, I know.

Anyway, it was their election special. They had made up this bullshit political party 'The Banana Party' and were going on about what they would do for the country, like everyone getting free bananas and 3 day weekends.

Then suddenly I was bombarded by subliminal right wing messages!

Pledge #3 for what they would do when in power: Pocket money top ups. Basically, whatever amount of pocket money you already get, they'll double it. The presenter said to this girl holding a 50 cent piece "If you already getting 50 cents a week, we'll double it and you'll get... ANOTHER 50 CENTS A WEEK!" Then the crowd cheered, and he handed over 50 cents.

But this was the good part; he asks the girl next to him "How much pocket money do you get a week?" The little girl pulls out a 10 dollar note, so he says "Then you'll get... ANOTHER 10 DOLLARS A WEEK!" Crowd cheers in the background again, and he hands over a 10 buck note to the girl.

Yay, so the poor receive less and the rich receive more!!!!!!!!!!!

So What Now is teaching the New Zealand youth Right wing ideals so when we grow up, we will vote for parties such as Act and National! What ever happened to What Now? It used to be about the toilet humour, now its all bad karaoke and capitalism.

Sorry, but what you have described is LEFT wing, not right wight politics. Right wing would be if they were given the choice of how to spend their pocket money, and were given equal opportunities to earn more. Left wing is when the government GIVES more to one sector than to another.

Yes, left wing is for lazy sods who can only get buy when people give them things and complain when other people get more. Right wing is for people that put a heck of effort into working their butt off to earn stuff and use part of it to help those that cant help themselves.

    I hate you people

It is right wing as it is all about giving more money to the rich than the poor. What would've been more to the right is if they had taken that 50 cents away from the kid and given it to the rich one

You're probebly both for selling schools and hospitals to the private sector too aren't ya?

OK, I must be missing something here. What right wing party is offering to give me anything? The two main right wing parties that I'm aware of (National and Act) haven't offered to give me anything, but both have promised to take less from me.

As for your second comment, No, I'm against selling schools and hospitals to the private sector.

Righ wing would have been an offer to give her an extra 50c or $10 a week, but not telling her that in return the kid would have to walk to school, her bedroom wouldn't get decorated for another 5 years, and she'd have to eat chips instead of decent food for the forseable future, as the household's economy would collapse.

Isn't the term "right wing socialist" a bit of an oxymoron? Socialism being far left and Fascism being far right.

Hey cheer up alarumba, no-one made an arse of themselves. Its only through discussions like this that facts come out and misconceptions can be laid to rest.. Rather I would comment that what you picked up initially was bloody well noticed.

Not all all. /me is a right wing socialist.

Socialist refers to how the means of production are owned and controlled. It is an economic term. Left wing and right wing normally pertain to sociological opinions. They are non-economic. Remember, the Nazi Fascist party's offiical name was the National *SOCIALIST* party. They were right wing socialists. A monarchist socialist is perfectly possible. God save King Francis (/me is not only a monarchist but a Jacobite to boot) ; and hurrah for the people's socialist revolution.
