I know right, just show how fucked the world is if we're the "least corrupt"

The high levels of corruption often mean that the police are ineffective. The drug cartels don't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in their way, including police officers (I've seen the applicable pics and videos, so I know it's true). The cops also have a family of their own that they want to get home to at the end of each shift, so I can't blame them for wanting to keep themselves as safe as they reasonably can in the line of duty.

Oh I fully understand why things are the way they are... and if cops are worried about their family's, then perhaps they shouldn't be cops. Seems a little strange that it's left to the people, who I'm pretty sure have families too, to get out there and do the dirty work. Perhaps they should sack the entire police force and embrace the leadership of the cartels as they're unafraid of removing those who get in their way. In fact why stop there... given that popular opinion seems to blame the US as the problem, why haven't the US done what the people are doing? After all, they've invaded how many country's in the last 10 years?

Its not often I find myself agreeing with you, but yeah.

Do you remember the news story from maybe last year or 2012 about the town in Mexico that had had something like four chiefs of police in two years, all killed in the line of duty, and some 21 year old woman stuck her hand up and said yeah, I'll do it. Not sure what happened to her.

funny story, related to me the other day.
t'was a bit of a scuffle, down the docks like, and this ol lady was hoping to get to an pre-arranged motherfucken soiree. not a bob in sight, but plenty of the "criminal" gangs...
they asked her from whence she came and to where she wished to go, to whit: the restaurant up there (past yon brawl).
they flanked her and walked her through the shennanigans and deposited at the door. then turned around and started bottling cunts.

the NZ police ARE innefective: QED, i smoke weed and drive fast. frequently. i kill whores, have candy in my station wagon, do mean skids bro, and generally or otherwise not give a fuck.
and niggers are still robbing people, jews are still robbing people, people are getting stabbed, beaten.. all those things terrible uncouth like.

your best bet: dont rely on the police to do anything for you. ever.

I don't know how many countries they've invaded over the past 10 years (too many I think), but maybe they don't want to start a war with a country so close to home.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. It makes the gangs over here look weak in comparison.

She lasted only 4 months then disappeared only to appear 3 months later in the US seeking asylum. Now lives in Texas currently

seems to me its a numbers game, get a big enough mob together and its amazing what can be acheived.

don't think its only being worried about getting back to their families, i think still having a family to get back to plays a big part of it, when there is that much money involved i don't think the gangs would hesitate to use what ever means they can to keep control over the police or officials
