Advice sought on finding a Honda Grom or Kawasaki ksr110

    Hi,

I am looking to buy a modern monkey bike for monkeying around on here in Whangaparaoa. I have found 2 bikes that would suit me fine the Honda Grom (aka MSX 125) and the Kawasaki ksr 110.

Neither of these are sold in NZ as far as I can work out.

How would I get one of these? Import from Japan?? Is there a company that can source this sort of thing??

    Cheers

Did you manage to get any info on the Grom.
They look like a fun runabout.

Blue Wing Honda are the importers. They are fucking hopeless. They expect you to WANT to pay a premium on world prices for the privilege of owning one of Japan's finest (case in point: starter price for the CB1000R naked about three years ago).

    But you could ring them:

    http://www.hondamotorbikes.co.nz/contact-us/

    and ask.

The best current example of how useless they are: CB1100F: the ad for the bike was shot in NZ, it was released as a JDM three or four years ago, its been in Australia for two years, and even gone to the US and they finally get it here and its three grand too dear.

If you could source one out of the US that might be the go. Or Japan.

The Grom has received some enthusiastic reviews. Cycle World did their "road test" in a skateboard park.
A quick look indicates that the Australian Honda site does not as yet list the Grom. The site is fairly up to date as it does list the new CBR1000RR SP.

someone like red baron or colemans might import one for you, but I think they are quite popular in Japan so hold there value quite well,

Kawasaki did import the KLX125 D tracker which was similar, but it did not sell well, the KSR110 is only made for asian markets so not imported new here,

Might be worth getting hold of these cats mate. I've seen a couple of KSR's on their site from time to time. Maybe they can hunt one down for you.
