Big Tank - still to arrive
Big Loop Coyote - great bit of kit
Rox Risers - anti vibe 2 1/4 - still to arrive
Air Hawk arse saver - still to arrive

Take my credit card off me!!!

Hmmm, 124 km to stock 9L tank, yep that's about right when riding in a spirited fashion. Technical trail riding is worse. I'll get 15.5km/litre if riding sensibly.
I got the 13L KTM for my 525, good for around 175km, plus have an auxillary rear tank of 5L which I'll fit up for long trips.

Yep, accessorising is an expensive pastime. Fun shopping but.

Yep - real good fun, although not looking forward to the credit card bill (or the reaction when the minister of finance sees it) - that will all be forgotten as I am hurtling along some trail on the DB with a grin a mile wide

Big tank hasn't arrived yet - but I will soon be ready to tackle the DB1k , got the neurosurgeon on Tuesday for my six monthly check on the old back op so will be annoyed if he stops me in my tracks

Took her out for a spin today - it makes the KLR seem like a touring bike on the road but very confidence inspiring on gravel / light off road stuff - and that is with road tyres/sprocket on - will wait till I talk to the doc before getting too gnarly - but really looking forward to it!
hope you got enough on your credit card left to buy the ktm toaster to feed us on the db1k

Check out the banana bag at third gear dot com...ozzy company now shipping to nz....I bought one and super impressed. ...compare the price to a big basin and you could buy a new banana bag every year for the price of some of the other bags..also on e bay ...

no - still recovering from the old back surgery so am planning to van down and do "half or easy days"probably start in Waimate on day 1 and go straight to Omarama saddle on the Sunday morning - see what happens and how the old hammer and tack stands up.
If I do van down - I'll give you a yell if you want any gear taken down - might make the old Friday run a bit more enjoyable for ya!

Hey there Crim, was wondering if you could give me the low down on your 450 in terms of how you have set it up for adventure riding. Have a few questions for ya:

Whats the gearing like for open road use?
What sort of service intervals are you doing - oil & filters, valve checks
    What seat are you using
Have you or are you intending to fit a cush drive rear wheel on it
Is it very "viby" at 110-120klm on the road
    Are you using stock sprockets
Have you added any wind protection to it

am looking at all options for another bike so any comments gratefully received

    cheers
    Night Falcon
    ....wherezz that track go
