    Accommodation near Hampton Downs?

Does anyone have recommendations regarding somewhere to stay that is handy for Hampton Downs? Doing a CSS 2 day there in March and keen on staying somewhere close but not too feral/isolated

    cheers

Would be pretty cool if there was somewhere you could stay at the track

We stayed at KD's Retreat last year - that's right there...- in Te Kauwhata I guess 5 mins from the track. KD's is a homestay...nice 60+ divorced bloke - hard arsed with a good attitude, private rooms. Cost us $70 a night for double with breakfast.

Or rent the units on the HD track - I think they are $540 for a weekend. Two dbl rooms.

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

I booked at the Essex Arms in Huntly. Haven't been there before, but pricing was good and they say on their website that they have a secure car park. Wouldn't want anyone to steal my incredibly expensive track-tour-commuter

Ive stayed at the Essex arms a few times in Huntly. Cheap, clean and close to lots of amenities but also right next to the bastard fire station( at least it sounded right next door at 4 am) and train line. I wont be doing that again.
