    Pukemanu Ride February 2014

    Hi there adv bikers.

Due to injury we have a bike space on a trailer, seat in a van, ferry crossing and bed, for The Pukemanu Adv ride .

The space is a return trip and we will be travelling on Friday Feb 21 and Sunday Feb 23.

The team (4 people) booked early when dates were established. Now we are three

    No cost details as yet.

We would be hoping for a keen, organised rider with a well prepared bike. However some guidance can be offered in respect to this.

    Message for more details.

    Pete

I'm in, and trying to get a new-to-NZ DR650 rider interested.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Yeah looking forward to it. Have you sent your entry in?

I'm hoping Iona will send us the route sheets in advance like she did last time so I can be all sorted before I go over to Martinborough.

Just to enthuse everyone here was my ride report from last time which really was three years ago http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/136182-Pukemanu-Adventure-Ride-2011-Ride-Report

Hope it doesn't rain so much this time.
    Cheers

Have taken a chance (that they'll not be too large) and ordered a route sheet holder from torpedo

I asked about this today when I sent my entry in. Iona said - "I’d hate to promise yes to the route sheets and not follow through, as they’re not being finalised until the very last minute. They will be in your rider pack for collection Friday all day/evening or Sat morning."

It would be great if they could be e-mailed out friday though.

As someone who has organized Adv Rides in the past and is of a curmudgeonly persuasion, I can say what Iona is far too nice to say to you all:

    Hold yer feckin’ patience!

These rides have last minute changes more often than not due to weather, road conditions or farmers moving stock.
So the last thing the hard working organisers of an Adv Ride needs is people pestering them for route sheets in advance - route sheets that might have to be changed at the last minute.

Stop worrying about route sheets and go oil yer chain or change a tyre...chopping up the route sheet is part of the social fabric of the ride. Have a cleansing ale and talk to fellow riders whilst cutting and sellotaping, instead of hanging around looking smug coz you got yours emailed to you in advance.

Says the man Oscar that got me to email a copy onto him after Iona did send it to me a day or so in advance last time.
    Cheers
