The TT was kinda fun around the suburbs (an 18yr old had but one vehicle) but kinda dreadful too. That headlight was woeful come to think about it.
But the SR was almost a cruiser, guess they pandered to the amercan market too far. The SRX looked better but haven't ridden one.
Got far more fizzy by that stage by RZs.
The 1.1 was kinda same vein as my GS but felt heavier still.

I've ridden the SR500 .. it went quite well. Not exactly awe inspiring ... but I'd own and ride one. Quite a few big singles ended up as commuter bikes. With good rubber and with a few teeth less on the rear sprocket ... even the dirt bikes did the job well. Being narrow made them both good in traffic.
There was a TX650 as well as an XS650. The TX650 was well sorted and popular. Yamaha tried to improve on the TX650 ... and created a TX750 (Also a twin). And they had a shit-load of problems with them.
I thought the XS1.1 was heavy. In later years I got the FJ1200. The XS wasn't that heavy ...

That sum would seem seriously optimistic. The other day I saw a YouTube clip of a guy with an Orange County Chopper that cost US$80,000 new. Fifteen years later he had bought it for $8,000. There was no instrumentation so there was no knowing how many miles it had done. The thing was so uncomfortable though that he felt it would not have travelled far.
OK the chopper here looks 1000% better than an Orange County PoS but even so...
Here's the clip:
