Tiny wheel, so not so useful. Bigger ones are much better even as 50s.

I did a 1600km 24hr run out of Turangi in the early to mid nineties, there was a guy, Pink I think they called him who did it on something similar, an NSR50 or maybe an NSR80, couldn't walk when he finished, full throttle all the way, not sure if he finished within the 24hrs

I did the cold Kiwi from wgtn 6 times despite more suitable bikes in the stable, but even I think that's too hard-core.

The last I checked the speedo it was showing just over 250kmh (so maybe 220 in real terms) and as I crossed the centreline back into the correct lane I hit a small bump. Next thing I knew I was over the front of the bike looking at the front wheel and road going past me. I did nothing to save it, the bike thankfully settled itself. We pulled over, with my mate saying I turned into a blur in front of him. Once I got my composure back we rode straight back to Trev's, he took one look at the tyres and apologised saying they had been sitting on the bike for years and all he had done was check the pressures.
Ha! Sounds like a close call
I have a few slapper tales - like the time crasher invited me into Wellington Mortorcycles to ride one of the first TL1000S bikes in the country - pre steering dampener with about 2 liters of fuel in it. Went up Mount Victoria, pulled out to pass a tourist bus, all fucking hell broke loose and I ended up lock to lock tank slapping up beside the bus. I remember the surreal look of all the Asian faces peering out the window down on it all happening. I managed to rip up the front end and straighten it that way, whew!

The very early 750's had a short swingarm which made them prone to tankslappers.
I only had the 750 for about 6 months before going to a G model 1100R. I "think" I used michilin high sports on the 750 to good effect. Then went Dunlop for the 1100. I think it might have been a 391 front???

I rode on back in the day and wasn't impressed especially with the front end.
Bear in mind I ended up with a TT500 for some reason. First GS Suzi was a revelation.

WTF is it with people listing shit with no photos. Or one photo. Of the owners manual. Christ, how am I going to get my jollies of a morning while drinking my coffee if I can't see pictures and internally mock listers for their shit ads.

    Also: I'm selling my Ducati.

intrigued by this. I love that profile and look

truly optimistic without pix and deets. Come on!

Eleven grand isn't too bad for this in the current market. Having said that there is money to spend on it and who the hell pulls a motor down and doesn't clean the crabs? - or the engine cases for that matter.
