    B2 ?.

    That's news to me...

First water cooled KX5 was the E1 in '88. Last model was the E16, 2004. E for Edition.

Nah. First liquid cooled KX500 was the 1985 B1. The B2 got KIPS and a rear disc. In 87 they went to the under link rear susp after years of the unitrack dog bone, 88 was the grand daddy off all KX500's since.

Costs $8,000 for a new one. He wants $7,400 for a second-hand one that's been dropped. I know which way I'd be going.

It takes a certain degree of retardation to even consider one of these bikes anyway. But yes, that seller is nuts.

Funny that you say that. I saw this bike when it was first listed here in CHCH... made me cringe hard... I had one of them same ones back in the day... a 1992 with ~35,000kms. Sold it for $3500 in great condition for its age, with original fairings and all that. This guy comes around selling it for 5k saying it's worth heaps...etc and won't show us close of pictures of his home non-pro shitty job on the bike. Fuck off.

Funny he's selling the R3 thru Kiwibiker. It did not sell on TradeMe and from what I recall a month ago on the listing it did NOT drop. So I'm guessing the seller dropped it within the past month while trying to sell it. Shows how much care they have on something that they don't want anymore. I do see the same R3 riding around the Western side of CHCH though... There aren't many red R3s in CHCH, only the ones Trevor and Pierce got in here.. and I'm pretty sure there's no more than two of them.

    $400,000 USD Bimota?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-Other...m=262090618411

Granted they are quite rare-ish, and the early Bimotas are collectable. But when you offer zero info, and only one very poor photo, the rest are pictures taken from a magazine (that's not your bike), having a new 0 seller rating...

and when the VIN is KB3 (granted, they do kinda look vaguely similar)

I really hope this guy is just fishing
400k USD = 587k NZD. There's a SB4 for sale just two months ago in the UK with an actual history and good pictures and contact details of people who will talk to you for just 12.5k GBP or about 28k NZD.

you'll often find that when someone has an auction, then gets interest from outside the price goes to a million or something to hold the add while they deal with the other, or for well known bikes whack on obscene money and expect a private door knocker or whack on silly money get everyone talking and watching for relist, relist at normal price and you've got watchers coming back.
    it's not rocket surgery.
