I don't think that's hugely optimistic for low k nice condition bike

Aye, and at last count there were roughly two in the country, one of them stolen, which lends a certain exclusivity.

Opinions on them are heavily polarized, but with a budget for several road bikes that could easily be in the gargre, as the quick saturday fang over the hill option.

All of the XB's vary in build quality and performance a fair bit, of the ones I've sampled I'd buy my old XB12R back in a heartbeat. It was the best handling and had by far the crispest engine and I'm not convinced I've managed a bike more expeditiously since. And from the look of the front tyre on that TT it's seen some brisk work also.

That is one odd looking lady. I guess they chose her to match the challenging looks of whatever that other thing is.

    Being beaten in an auction.

I had a $58 bid on a 12yr old P&S compact camera.(God only knows why). It was just an average spec camera in its day and the reviews at the time gave it a 'so so' rating. My bid was as much as I thought it was worth. In the last 90 minutes, three bidders played leapfrog and the closing bid was $143.00.

I wonder how much of this frantic bidding was from a compulsive urge to 'beat' the others to the finish line regardless of the item's value.

Have you ever been caught up in this "Fuck you, I'm going to out last you noddy" frame of mind?.

Happens all the time. Only got to look at the $1 reserve items that go for silly money, yet the same seller will have the same item with a lower "buy now"?

not too often but the watch I am wearing today was won after a frantic $1 rise bidding war. It was hilarious. I paid a bit much I think but I like it and wear it a bit so, meh. fuckit. Plus I beat those other turkeys.

That is exactly what any auction seller hopes for. All it takes is 2 or more bidders with a hard on for your item.
