Dont think I am going to own this for four grand.

Genuine rarity, they could have been a lot better than they were. I've got a nearly complete motor here which was going to be the basis for an Egli framed pre 82.
    Your bid is about right...

The only bike I owned that I never got a photo of. Comfortable to ride but wasn't anything special. This one is a lot tidier than my one ever was. I'd bid that money for it.

Starting price is a bit steep for this I think considering the work that will be needed.

My first bike. $162.00 brand new from 'Burglar Bill' in Putaruru 1969. 1/3rd deposit and paid the rest over 12 months.

I see the price dropped over night ... from 12K to 10.5K. Maybe he is a KB forum member and read our piss takes.... Still I would say 4-5 K too high

has not been in any accidents, the only scratches which can be seen in photo 8 were caused when the bike fell over when stationary. apart from that the paint work is in fantastic order.

So the front wheel has left the ground....... when it fell over. But it was not an accident. Fell over on purpose ??

I had a hankering for one when I was a teenager. A good mechanic had on in and was talking. He was less than complimentary on the engine design. Like two SR500s but not in a good way. Chassis was shit too.

Not that bad, fixes are well known and relatively cheap. Bottom end is plain bearing on a massive forging. Heads are restrictive, std, yes, but they're actually pretty short stroke and sohc with good geometry so you could rev the tits off them when set up right.
Chassis is like a jap Vincent - beam with motor hanging and monoshock.
As I said earlier, they could have been a lot better just tweaking what they had.

Well he was a Honda fanatic. Perhaps if they used two YZ490 top ends. And say 3 degrees less rake.

this is a shaft drive one (XV750 or 920). Genius using those wheels I thought.

Yes you would have a ton of money in it but it meets my requirements for this sort of thing: MOTORcycle with the engine the major feature.

When I was a kid skiving off in maths class I would always doodle the motor first then the rest of the bike. I was shit at maths and art as it happens....
