If you phoned Ken and said "Oi, carnt, put a Norton Manx in a box and send it to me" you would have, what, $50+ in it? Probably not $70 agreed. But they are pretty damn cool bikes. When I was a kid goofing off in maths class, doodling, my doodles were of bikes that were supposed to be Manx Nortons, bikes that were supposed to be the Captain America bike from Easy Riders, and the starship enterprise.

my point (which I am just getting to) is that they are iconic. but I think I agree. Maybe that one's a bit on the high side.

Yeah man. And bikes that I did have in my 20's that people pay big money for, I dont want to own again. Maybe except an SOHC Honda 750... or 400. But not any of the other stuff.

Yes - as dave put it, decimal place misplaced. Same as the AX100 - only if that horrible seat was laminated from fresh $100 notes would it be worth anything like asking price.

This is my favourite bike on tardme hands down.

I should buy it and take it to the Iron run.

I often daydream about finding the basis of one of my old dirt bikes and rebuilding it the way I couldn't afford to then.

I'm convinced the result would be the sort of tech masterpiece that would absolutely clean up had I owned it in my 20's.

And then I look at the KTM525 sitting in my gargre, with the sure and certain knowledge that no piece of old shit I cobbled together, no matter how well engineered would ever be a match for it.

Which just depresses me for days. Nostalgia, eh, not what it used to be.

Lol, no wonder it's getting the fuck out of Taupo.

If it stayed any longer it would end up on the top of the local MC's bonfire.

(After the plate was removed of course).

Just leave them be, they are trying very hard (bless em') to coexist in a fantasy world of Moron V Moron to the high amusement of those who care to have quick skim through once a week.

    Exactly.

At least we're not cross-contaminating with the other morons - IYKWIM.
