Buell Sportster engine is quicker than the stock HD.
Still, given the bikes set up - rigid rear - shortened (including travel) front end, weirdly bent handle bars, I don't think going quick the the bikes intention.
It's a cool looking bar hop. Who is this famous NZ custom builder then?
All the factory linked systems still have a front/rear lever/pedal.
I'd say this unit is foot only to keep a clean looking bar with no lever - no clutch lever either but you can get a twist grip clutch set-up from Exile Cycles - I suspect it has that. No many photos to wet ones appetite for a 50 k asking price!
Legal? Good question, I don't know if the code is specific as to how your front and rear are operated. I'd suspect not.
Side note - imagine the chaos if cars had separately operated front/rear brakes.
The 1926 (?) Austin 7 that I had for a few years used the foot brake on the rear wheels (only) and the hand-brake on the front wheels (only). Despite the near complete lack of any speed and the relatively low weight, it was common to need both sets to slow down, all the while double-declutching the gears on every down change and adjusting the ignition advance. Chaos, indeed!
This line never ceases to amaze me

As if it would somehow instantly dissolve into a pool of plastic and metal the second any water hit it........
