A couple of thousand years ago a mate bought a year old TX750 from a car yard. He brought it around and we all pissed ourselves as it vibrated itself down the drive on the mainstand.

It died with a terrible sound of broken engine parts a couple of months later. It seemed the car yard had 'repaired' the engine in the usual car yard way. Vengeance was extracted at a later date.

The TX 750 has a terrible reputation based on the first year bikes (1973)

It had this Omni-Phase balancer thingy which whipped up the oil in the sump, aerating the oil and starving the crank for lubrication which resulted in bearing failure.

In addition, the balance chain would stretch, resulting with the counterweights being out of phase and making the engine run rough. Although Yamaha quickly repaired the problems, including a deeper sump and an adjustable balance chain, sales fell and the TX750 became synonymous with poor design and reliability. The 1974 Model was extensively modified with a revised sump and does not suffer from reliability issues

I remember the TX750 engines being sold bare and brand new for 'choppers' in the 70's... Not sure there were many takers.

End of the day - the bikes now rare...

The cops had the 500 twins. The local one had one before they 'upgraded' him to a Suzuki GT380. Old "Chisel Chin" still couldn't catch us but knew where we lived anyway.

Someone please tell this guy that his reduced price from $10,495 to $9,495 in the last 6 months his bike has been on TradeMe is still bull shit?

While you are at it please show him a brand new one from the dealership only costs $8,995.

Here, I'll even provide the link

I'd actually rather not see those tits. Not really interested in the bike. Oh cool, no problem
