MK2, collectible? F-ed if I know I am always wrong on these things - heck I should have purchased that Sport Classic Ducati that sat in the local dealers getting discounted lower and lower years back. Blood things are fetching good money now!
compared to restoring a z900 where there are loads of aftermarket parts including complete sets of painted body work etc, switchblocks this wouldn't have been an easy resto, he is in business so ad an hourly rate to parts and he'll probably be lucky to break even. look at some of these 'custom' harleys and they're just a collection of parts bolted together and often twice the price. it's a lot of coin but that's probably what it cost too. NOS stuff ain't cheapo.

If someone over invests to make a bike, does that make the bike worth his asking price.

Far from it as you well know.
Try building a fast Bucket for less or even close to the price you can buy an already built one.

Not necessarily - but if there's someone out there who thinks the bike is worth the asking price then good luck to the seller.

If I were to sell any of my bikes they'd be set at top dollar too.

You don't have those bikes to build then sell though. It's not the same.

Bit odd to be asking for someone to buy a bike which isn't complete, that said if he's drumming up interest...

Someone will pay that for it.

My wife want's a GN (yes I know) and I think I'd turn it into a cafe racer just to make it a fraction less gay, but this??? No way.

11k for an insurance write off? Bargain! Someone needs to call this mug out on what he is selling.

I'd love that in my shed - maybe one third the price?

I know.... I really hope the bike doesn't get sold to a noob buyer. It landed quiet badly on top of the fuel tank so that should have been replaced. The guy that bought it got in touch with me for the red key and manual and said he just put paint filler on it and repainted it...
I told him to change it as it may be leaking.... Not sure if he has.

The no questions thing would put me off right away. It's as if there's things to hide.

It's a pity TradeMe doesn't have a public question/answer format for classifieds. Else we could ask a pile of pertinent questions.

So without actually knowing a thing about the bike any more, what with it having had to get certified to be registered again, you hope it doesn't get sold because you thought it was fucked when ya went full retard and crashed it?

"hope it doesn't get sold"...? I didn't say that... But hey look if you encourage people putting up misleading adverts and ripping people off then that makes you a C**T

When I sell bikes I run a classified so as to weed out the poverty stricken tyre kickers with the likes of " swp 4 a Mitzi Mgna bro"

The SS will make someone a nice shed ornament for about 50K.
