And I'm not in the slightest bit surprised. People love 'em!
There's one born every minute I guess. I never would have thought that model was ever going to be worth anything. I like mid 70's XS as well as the triple but the one in the auction is forgettable at best.
Or maybe I don't know what I am talking about...

This one is priced more realistically.

Don't get me wrong...I don't like Jap *Cruisers* at all (can I interest you in a GS550L Sir??!!), it's the engine I like in the XS650. It's pretty, and has some history. That's why I'd like to make a tracker out of one.

Quite like these. But not sure you'll get 10500 for one.

Big dollars alright but with low kms like that and apparently tidy condition probably not a bad place to start. It'll attract the attention of a specific buyer (enthusiast or collector) and they'll negotiate a fair (to both parties) price. Definitely a nice example, be hard pressed to find another like it in NZ.

Yeah def a nice one. Need to see it in person to see how bad the corrosion is though.

Hey they are a classic. Seller is only reflecting the increase in value over those three years.

Interesting that isn't it. I guess it must've been tied up with licensing laws in Japan, I mean we got trick 250SP models (NSR, RGV and TZR(?)) but not much in the larger two strokes. Imagine a factory RGV500SP or NSR500SP...

Yessss! I was working at a Honda dealership when that bike was released, it was on our pricing list. Something like $280,000 in 1997.

They were fucking awesome I reckon! Sexy as fuck. They do come up for sale every now and then too. Wheelies were one of the main problems I believe, as the crank rotated the same was as the 250, unlike the fours which spin backwards to fight wheelies.
