Exhibit B: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...1312128114.htm I am quite impressed with this one. The 'Customiser' had a clear vision and did it properly, unlike so many others. It features the traditional pipe wrap and brown seat, but somehow (in my eyes) turned out well above the usual standard of Caffination.
$10k for a poxy 185cc bicycle doesn't really do it for me. But the serious restoration and amount of work to the CB650, sort of makes the price justified. Just not classic enough for me

Well line up guys, this is a collector's item they sez.

Yup I can just imagine it in a glass case at the side of the lounge. A few Brandies after a dinner party, guests suck through their teeth. `Well Stanley, you don't see many of those anymore`

Yeah, that's your finger buddy. That's one of the photos that you don't load up, or if you do by mistake, don't use as your featured photo.

I'm calling the manufacturer the optimistic seller.

What the hell were Yamaha thinking??

So you buy Parkers Radd project to make a cutting edge Honda style (think NR750 or CXTurbo) statement bike. Then you make it enormous, heavier than it needed to be, and butt ugly.
Hmm. . . maybe that was in Honda style.

Haven't seen one for sale before, but I took one for a decent strop up old coast rd wainui. I actually rated it. I mean it was a better bike than my RF900 for example. Could have done with some more go as they'd detuned it. And a plastic tank so no tankbag on what clearly is a tourer. And good luck getting parts if you crash it.

Well that was a dead end when they didn't sell. Maybe they were trying to kill off hub steering once and for all?

Dunno but it's a significant piece of history and If I wanted an old bike I'd be interested in that. Much more keen than on that Ajay model 18 with fingers included.

My first bike was a '54 model 16 and I have no desire to go that far back in time. I couldn't be bothered with decompression and advance/retard levers. All that faffing about for maybe 130kph flat out? The thing would just rot in the shed. /RANT

didn't stop steve lyndsell getting ninth in the senior tt on one, fact is few people wanted to accept the move forward in front ends, we're still stuck with antiqated forks....

Yeah took him quite some work to shed the weight though.

If they launched a bike much closer to the Radd concept bike, which was a sports bike I think it would have sold better.

Geez Jelly I was expecting some greif over stating the quad not being collectable.

The only four wheelers with that amount of plastic that are even remotely collectible were made by Lotus....

Only because there's as yet, no better alternative.

Let's not forget that they keep making forks better too.

Line up a set of balance free forks against the best oem item from a decade ago. There's no comparing the levels of control available then and now.

That, and every time I ride on a front end that doesn't dive when on the picks, I shudder. I was there when bikes had anti dive fitted cause it seemed like a good idea. Didn't like it then, hate it now.

I liked it on the gamma. But I was so young when I rode that, there's no chance I was trying to carry any brake into a turn.

Fuck that. My first ever road bike (KR250) had it too. Hated it. Had come from long travel MX bikes, and it just made no sense.
