The guy is probably a firm believer in the old adage "Presentation sells". That in itself makes a change from so of the absolute crap pictures and shit condition of bikes some sellers put up.
That's one thing I always have a close look at with some bikes, the condition it's presented in is usually a good indication of what sort of treatment the bike has had![]()

Kinky is using a feather. Perverted is using the whole chicken
yeah i thought they looked a bit touched up too, which annoyed me a little - Id rather see a vehicle pictured as it is, not photoshopped / edited / retouched etc.
reminds me of when we were looking to buy our last house, realised real quick that ray white seriously touch up their photos, the actual houses were often barely recognizable from the photos, adverts looked like a gem, actual houses looked like turds.
Just wastes my fucking time.
Just because someone can sit their fat arse on a computer chair and edit a photo, doesn't mean they have the ability, money or inclination to be turning spanners regularly.
...forgot to add the post I was alluding to... 23,000 grands worth of Guzzi...

But when you know what you're actually looking at & know what to look for you can actually get a good indication of how the machine has be treated.
Nothing to do with whether or not the photo has be glamourised or not......no matter how hard you polish a turd it's still recognisable as a turd![]()
$17.5KPretty sweet old girl but probably a few thou on the steep side of things

Given an R75/5 sold for 10K last week I'd say that is not unreasonable.
Looked at Triumph and Norton asking prices lately and engineering wise they are from the steam age.
I've got the first R90s sold in NZ in 1974 and it was $5500.00 new.
Had to be trucked back from Burt Munro last year, but at 170 000 kms its getting a top end refresh now.
I think there probably needs to be a thread called Rose Tinted Buyers for bikes that were once affordable are now over 15K

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
Maybe if the bike was start price of around $13k it'd be a slightly different story but starting at $17.5k nah
At 13 I'd even consider buying it myself as the 90s is one of the beemers I have a soft spot for
I always remember the ads that used to frequent the pages of the US mags in the early 80s for BMW & the american owners club....they had classes for the bikes 100, 200, & were on the verge of starting the 300s.....that was for distance traveledand we all know the yanks unit of measure is miles!
ha I actually saw your beemer rock through here on its way home![]()
Whats your take on this?
$18500.00

I know the seller he specialises in British bikes.
The poor old R90s has a slightly worn valve guide....

Ha nah...but unlike a lot of bikes I see getting trailer around the place it got my attention
personally about $5k too much but I'm not really a Commando fan.... years a go a mate had a 750s...awful damn thing kept braking down all the time, once I had to tow the damn thing 50km using a leather belt tied around the grab rail of my bike & him hold the other end
Ouch to the valve guideleast the buggers are simple to work on
a set of Krauser heads could've taken up position in place of the original heads
Wish I had photos of what a Laverda does when it handgrenades it's ringsthe 1200 did its rings on the Culverden straight....kept going though and road it back into ChCh albeit running as sick as dog but sat on 120km/h two-up
but when the head was lifted off
looked like some one had been tattooing the head with a cold chisel
