I've said it before but I am a very stupid man. I bought a fairly tatty shed stored CB400F on tardme and went through it and replaced all the consumables, fluids and generally caught up with its deferred ish maintenance and rode it for a few years then decided "Meh, I am over old bikes" and sold it. INSTANTLY regretted it.
There was a CB550F (not stock, but OK) that came up on my tardme feed this morning. Had a buy now of $5k. I went to click it and it was sold![]()

One reason may be that the 350 is a pretty little thing, nicer looking than the 400. Then again I like the look of the CB500 compared tp the 550. As always it's in the eye of the beholder, but it's entirely academic I enjoyed my CB500 in 1973 but wouldn't want to know about one now.

The bike that I think is one of the sweetest of the late 70, early 80's (76-83 I think) is the Z650 Kawasaki four.
It would run rings around similar Hondas and handled better. Been a while since I've seen one for sale.

AND it's not finished yet!
High miles, engine knock, rusty chrome, worn pegs...
Brakes as new
Considering a GT 750 in boxes would be worth near half, and some expensive parts are already with the project, not such a bad price. A real Greenframe is at least 4 times that, or more.

you'd get $15k for that easy in an unmolested state.
I am interested in those wheels though - they look like Morris "mag" wheels
