And on what scale was it the "fastest production bike 1982"? I thought Laverda and Ducati were still scrapping it out at the top of the list back then?

Mind you, I saw my old "76 Wing on the top of some list once, to my amusement, though I can't remember what for. Possibly the "fastest bike that's heavier than a small truck with a frame that flexes more than an old man's dick"
    Wonder what came second...?
They clock up huge miles by fitting a beautiful yet practical fairing and seat combo.....

Mmmm. I can just see that combination eating up the miles, running from the fashion-police
High miles, engine knock, rusty chrome, worn pegs...

Really? I didn't know they did that to the XSive. I've got an old Vetter in the shed that looks a lot like that. Probably why it's still in the shed

Yeah, they're great old buses for the money eh. I was gonna rape mine and use bits from it for my Katana build...but decided against it.

Yeah pretty aren't they venerable barn door style. The Martini is probably what Ducati used as a template for the Multistrada DS fairing with the top separate from the main body of the fairing. The Venturer I've actually got the test (Cycle Guide Jan 81) that pic was taken from (I burgled that pic of the net) but as a touring mount they rated really well.

The Vetter fairing....if it's a windjammer you should throw it up on Ebay....some yank will offer silly money for it

If it's a period correct Vetter Windjammer for the GL and the luggage is the same brand you're probably sitting on a few dollars worth of bits

This guy is happy to keep his. At 10500, I've no doubt that's what he'll be doing. Expensive exhaust...but 10500? Nope.
