Come on mate. Not so long ago, if it wasn't a GSXR1000 or similar, it was a shitheap not worthy of mention.

I did and do maintain. If value for money is the question, then a modern thou is impossible to go past.

But having fun on bikes is pretty much default. It's gotta be a complete lemon before it isn't fun.

Oldest son is considering a race bike. He's been checking out trademe. There sure are some dreamers on there.

    Here's one.

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Nice of him to give the tread measurements of the tyres, I'd be more interested in the year they were manufactured. Of course if it's for racing the tyres won't be an issue, they'll be gone.

    Well I stand corrected.

I was thinking it was at least $500 too expensive.

...maybe it is too...but then again every bloody thing we want always costs more than we hope...we just picked up a fairly good FXR for racing...it cost 500 bucks more as soon as it was in our possession and that could only be the start if we wanted to keep up with the ones that have had 1500 thrown at them and they don't always catch the faster ones that have more TIME and money thrown at them...

Um so what class was he intending to race? The RGV 150 is not the same as the RG150 which is water cooled and much better. But do they still even run the 150 class?

Buy a bucket and get much more track time. Did OK for Jay and Sketchy and well heaps of others.

And spend at least as much as anyone does on an actual motorcycle. Heaven forbid you get a Triumph 675 or similar, so you can do BEARS meets as well.
