I see differently
The way I see that bandit is as the sort of bike that could easily sit in the shed as a competent backup, a loaner for mates if their bike is out of action or as pops up here every now & then something suitable for an overseas visitor on a budget looking for a cheap bike to see the country on without having to follow the fashionista idea of having to be seen on a big name adventure tourer.
Or even someone who has a highly strung sports bike that slogs it commuting, the bandit would chug away all day saving the sports for cobweb clearing on the weekends.
The frugal part of me says for the sake of stripping a bike out for 2 components I'd rather find one with a toasted motor strip out what's wanted and the dismantle from there & recoup expenses through individual parts, might take a bit longer but can increase total return in the long run
