Nice but not *that* nice. I'd rather just buy the retro model, bung an Ohlins on it and bank the considerable balance,

Having said that, while we look askance at these offerings, I note that 48 people have that bike watch listed. Can there be 48 bored property developers around?

He will sell them overseas I reckon - based on his name and the fact that well heeled punters are used to paying YUGE money for customs.

He's sold a couple at least in NZ that I know of. One was absolutely original down to the points ignition....At least put some sensible upgrades on that can be hidden, for that price.

True dat. I know someone who spent $56k on a something something. Has bags and a big batwing fairing. Beautiful paint job. Like really nice. Deep red with metalflake and painted on multicoloured flames.

So why are 58 on watch list? That's the odd bit. I don't believe that any would be keen to buy it at near that price.
With a little work it could be put back to std if that's what you want but pipes are going to hurt the wallet extensively.

I'd expect a nice original example for for less than that.

I had a 500/4 for about a year in 1984/5, if I wanted it 11K seems ok knowing how much time and money it takes to get them

this far, sorry kids spending your inheritance on bikes.

The point is though that you never get your money back, ever, doing something like that. As others have said I would have thought it would be worth more as a resto than as a resto-mod

    1908 Museum piece

You could buy a hell of a lot of more modern and enjoyable motorcycles, for that kind of money.

Yes I do love old bikes, particularly from the 50s & 60s, but IMO you do at least need to be able to get some riding pleasure out of them

Surely a motor museum would value such an item, more than a private buyer will?

I can think of two people who would own that, if they had the money on hand.

I'd never buy anything just to have as an ornament, but history means lots to some folk.

Yeah, 70 odd people have it watch listed and somebody has bid $25,000. There would seem to be a degree of interest.
