Nice bike but when there is another just like it for 1/3 the price it makes you look a bit of a dreamer.

See if you can find one of these Only ever seen one genuine 11 here and a couple of jap import 750s and the odd one done up as replicas but genuine factory limited edition 1100Js are nigh on rocking horse poo

    This one's a tad optimistic. It's currently $6499 for a new one.

Geez did they try to make it look like the 250 we got a gazillion of.

Those pissy little all noise no action 250s made an appearance the same time the 750s did with the flood of Grey imports we got hammered with in the mid/late 80s. The 11s are in a totally different realm, seen plenty of replica attempts but only one genuine Ltd edition and even that the owner brought in privately and talking to him a couple of years back he still regrets selling it

The 250's are bloody good fun when you get them wound up, thrashing my boy's one to 16k around the port hills keeping up with litre bikes provided much entertainment.

Now that I've grown up a (little) bit, torque is definitely your friend the rest of the time.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

No fun when you're 6'4" & 100kg plus plus having had to work on one many years ago something with valves with heads smaller than 5c pieces & stems only 2.5-3mm thick doesn't bode well for longevity either. the engineering is nice in a mechanical way but no my cup of tea, have had a shitload more fun on 250 2ts in the past. Had to nurse HOT back to chch after a KB ride to Jackson's a few years back when every other bugger pissed off and she was on her sons CBR250 and it struggled

As Gareth would say about the fairing " lipstick on a pig"
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Yep, while they are something of a marvel of engineering nothing about them bodes well for a long life, and they're definitely a toy rather than a long range mission bike. Funny thing is the boy is now thrashing a FXR150 about the place, and reckons it's more fun than the 250 ever was.

Marty Dock had one in ChCh. I had to ride it home for him after he'd canned off someone else's bike at Ruapuna.
Ruapuna to Halswell - and I needed a physio after I'd been helped off it. THE single most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden bar none.

There were a couple of GSXRs in ChCh that had impulse motors fitted, they would've been a bit of fun I did like the look of the GF250 specials when Suzuki NZ got their hands on a few and sold them here. In that scale of 250/4s a Benelli 250 Quattro circa 1980 would be nice to have

Too many valves. 16 too many as it turns out.

Not counting PVs or Reed Valves.
