25k for a Vespa does sound like a lot. In a vacuum. But there is an X factor that I'm sure the seller has factored in, maybe optimistically but I'm sure the market will view it subjectively and, he might get lucky.
I've got a CR500 that I bought new and had delivered about the same week my marriage turned to shit. Still wrapped up, under cover in the shed ,started it up once but never rode it. That was 2001. Been there 17 years. If I was an optimistic seller what should I ask for it to get on this thread ?

OK so I get that this is the look that Vespa were going for but fuck! That's a serious drop short. It's true that the $25,000 might not even be enough for the deposit on the boat but...

NZ is the wrong place to sell that Vespa.
A American or European Million/billionaire would not hesitate to drop that on a matching toy for their boat.
Heck a Google of Arab oil barons toys finds a 24 gold plated toilet that would be worth more than the Vespa. You can of course ride either.
Hmmm, my dads good at the ol' woodworking. Buy vespa for $5K, glue some wood panels on, ramble on about how it looks like some twat wooden boat and that you should buy it because some rich cunt in fancy Monaco owns one and I can charge $25 and make a quick $20k? Better yet, I could do all that but with the listing I can take some meth before hand, misspell every single word and charge $50k!
And here I am working a 9-5 like some sort of chum.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh look, the bike that I said was way overpriced at $8K and everyone shat on me for saying so is now down to $4.5K.

*insert smug face here*
The bit that makes me laugh is that it is not a Vespa factory edition. Simply an Auckland company that claims to have tarted up and sold 9 to collectors for big bucks.
If only I had a superyacht to make the 'investment' worthwhile.![]()
