7 grand buys you an old dunga CB with 1/2 the bits missing

And 45km since complete. Open pipes and non original carbs. Yeah bet it runs well, comes with spare jets. None of those suited either.

Must have a pretty lenient wof guy in his pocket.

A brand new CB360 had few redeeming features.
Some idjut has managed to make a mediocre bike into an atrocious POS.

Super cool bike but... It's sorta sad that a bike is regarded as an "investment opportunity". That's not what bikes are for.

problem is as that ones never been started it will likely always stay that way.
i was thinking which was the last 500 privateer model that was 82 i guess the last RG was similar and maybe the RS500 Honda was a little later?

I've got a few bikes, at least 5 pre 1920 and I've always struggled with the money side of it but it's here now. Reality is the fact that bikes like these are an investement item has seen a new batch of crankcases made, they are worth a bit so it's worth spending coin on keeping them going. Old [piles of shit are now worth doing, and repro parts are viable. my next bike on the resto table will be a 1924 ACE, previously it was a struggle to get some bits but that has lessened.
Shit repro parts are less, because the internet has brought owners together and warned people of shit parts, as well as people are now spending more time making nice parts as they are able to get more money from them.
old bikes are going up as people are investing in tangible stuff they can show their mates, not just a piccie of their latest house, or shares too
