As much as I like the old SR500 turning it a Cafe racer doesn't make it worth more

    Um, mirrors? Indicator?
    Are those just bars upside-down?

But that muffler. Well it just reeks of Patina.
Clever move using an alias bid to make it look like someone bid 7.5 for it without tripping the reserve
    .one high bid
.not suspicious at all. . .

Ace bars are kind of like that, presumably named after the Ace cafe near Wembley.
Although they are generally welded to mimic clip-ons.

pre jan 78 doesn't need indicators as long as you have two arms or one long one i guess.
there are other bikes exempted like xr200 and PE175 IT's

yeah trademe used to have a warning when you were within 15% of reserve and divulge reserve at the end if it didn't meet it, things have changed.

I can see one bar end mirror, two front indicators and I am going to assume the rear unit is an integrated one. Crap as they are.

They came about due to production racing regs which stated that the original bar mounts had to be used.
    So mimic clipon bar position.

Fitting a set to my Mach 3 was the 2nd best thing I did to it. Weight forward and lower really helped.
Best thing was fitting heavier clutch springs. Stopped the factory slip.

Lucky for me they weren't needed as much on the Mach 4 . I did try flats but, as Trev Kirby once said,I sit on the bike like a sack of spuds ! (like him!).
So I was happy with the A10's which I think were old BSA bars ? (Hairpin at Levin I think 73?)

Kirby crashed like a sack of spuds too. Those of us who raced the kawa triples in the day are a dying breed.
The usefulness of the 500 as transport was summed up by the mileage. 8mpg on the road, 12mpg on track.
immense fun though. Ride it to the drags and finish the day running off against the top car. Then ride it home.

Trev Kirby, a name I haven't heard for years. I bought my GSXR750F from him back in '96.

He's still around and upright. Do you mean GSX750F ? Steel frame and full fairings ? Probably a red one ? GSXR750M short stroke engine ?
He had two GSXR750H models which were both raced. From memory he sold one, wouldn't surprise me if he still had one tucked away.
