fabulous. they've taken an otherwise cool motorbike, spent a ton of money making it worse in every conceivable way, and are now asking three times what its worth.

    I pity the fool..... etc.

Be that as it may. $7.8k for an SV1000? That's optimistic.

Yeah, nah - at a dealer, you'd expect that as the list price. I think it's a case of, 'add what the fruit cost onto what I think the bike is worth'.

Yeah but it was probably in 'CAAASH'.

That makes all the difference apparently.

$5K sounds like a good starting point, listing a bunch of add-ons does not add to the bottom line sorry.

So when I put an ad on here a while back, and you replied asking me where the extra's came from and told me it was a nice looking bike.

You didn't think to mention the price then?

I am open to Near Offers. $5000 is only 64% of my ask, Thats not near. Thats almost halfway back.

    Cheers Guys,

I got the Kiwibiker response I expected. Haha.

    Have a good weekend!!

$5k is a pretty cheeky offer for that bike. As someone who was recently looking for a bike in that price range, if that had come up for $5k I would have taken it instantly sight unseen.

People say the extras don't add any value, but I'm not so sure. Let's see how those same people react when you say you'll just go ahead and take the extras off before handing it over on sale.

Good extras retain value. Ohlins shocks for example.. you dont get anything extra if one is in the bike when you sell, but if you put it back to stock you will be able to onsell it. And if it is apopular model you will be able to onsell.

Even if they haven't added a lot of value they still make the bike more likely to be chosen over a stock one at about the same price.

Sometimes, but for mainly cosmetics, it really personal taste and we are all different. As a rule much more interest in the stock bike's. In the case of the bike in question here, it's too personalized - IMO.
