    I guess if you're really into those bikes it would be, being a runner does bring the price up. I personally wouldn't want to spend more than 800-1k tho

    I was playing ebay chicken with it trying to find out the reserve . Clearly i cant do maths because all of a sudden I might own it. Still, I would own it for five k and all I would do is tidy it up and go through it and ride it as is. Fuck the purists and restorers - it reminds me a LOT of a bike I owned in the early 80's when they were just old shitters. Having said that I reckon $5k is all its worth and its top fucking dollar at that. And I got rid of all my "bits" I was hoarding years ago. Including a nice set of clocks. Meh - I'll put a full Motec dash in it.....

    Agree. Its a complete money pit (DAMHIK) if you wanted a "correct" concours restoration, but as something to offend purists and restorers you couldnt go wrong. Parts are reasonably priced, easily available, and plentiful. And if you wanted to go down the custom route, you arent fucking up a really nice one. A lot of work still to get it regd and wof'd and on the road... but the price is righ.

    " Purists and Restorers" are they the ones who think brown seats, exhaust wrap, cheap looking digital speedos, cut down guards are shit?

    Despite owning vinyl, having had a beard till last week and knowing my IPA from Double IPA there are a lot of crimes being committed to old bikes.

    Now on my watchlist, to see if HDC is going to end up owning it.

    You'd be doing ok to pick that up for $5k and tidy enough to just ride as a 'survivor', not everything needs a full restoration just because you can.
