Well, yeah, it gets that reliability from the 40 litre engine.

Yeah bud. Your broken down 15yr old Chinese scrapper isn't a Honda. And it isn't a Hardly lookalike either.

It certainly isn't worth what you are asking.

. . . And someone seems to have crashed it breaking front brake and throttle. Sheesh dude.

Do these clowns not understand that this makes a bike less valuable, not more valuable?

    That poor engine.

Someone has bid. You can't buy a new one anymore.

I think you miss the point sir, it's a collectors piece - it will probably never be ridden. Thus the zero kms have value, it's impossible to buy another brand new one (other than other collectors that may have them sitting in their lounge).

The one worth inconceivable money is the coveted 2004 998R.

Actually 999cc, powered with the testastretta rather than whatever they called the 916 motors.

But the 998FE is prolly still worth good coin.

And my point is that an unused one should be devalued because it is unused.

It's not a sign of quality - it is a sign of neglect.

It doesn't devalue the bike if it is something special. The FE is arguably just another 998 with a badge slapped in the headstock, but Ducati fanboys are all about that shit.

I stored this for the original owner, he purchased it from Haldanes & went overseas for years, was an ornament in an office all that time
It has never had petrol in it or a battery connected, I tried selling it on ebay,as I don't thnk you will sell it here, had lots of interest in it, but trying to get a bike into the US, especially California, with there emission laws, was impossible
He also has heaps of parts for it,full set of carbon fairings, airbox etc

    Meh. 2004 749R FTW.

there are a couple for sale on tard me for like $18k. The engines are completely different from the 749S, full crabon bodywork, all the fruit.

    Suits you Sir!

Ya see: I would be more interested in the unsanitary wimminz because I KNOW I can't wheelie for shit
