I'm not much of a fan of the rubber band brigade, though have spent quite a bit of time on a fully sorted & hot rodded 500 Pantah, a late 80s 750 Sport and a 96 900SP (though riding it was like a flashback to whats below)

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
Didn't have too many issues with parts 24yrs ago & it was sharing bits n pieces with a Alchemy RV1 race bike
I a bit dubious on the STs I saw & heard Mista's handgrenade it's rear end on the way to the 3rd southern KB get together he wasn't happy but even at 120km/h it looked impressive & made a hell of a noise and I was about 50m behind him
The Superlight probably rolled through the factory the same time as the 900SP

The 900 maybe but you'd be a fool to underestimate the desmodue 1000(good system, map etc.) like many do and pay the price for it
I have fond memories of beating 4 cyl. jappers, they think you don't stand a chance until they can't shake the thunderous boom of the termis and then they start to get flustered and frustrated and start to over cook it and that's where I come in for the kill giving them such a fright as I blow right past them they lack the will to carry on questioning the meaning of life'how the fuck did that 90hp piece of shit beat me'
Are we drag racing or riding? It's all good and well having 200hp but being able to use it is a whole different thing. Torque and handling wins races on the road, not horsepower, I've left tricked out zx10r's for dead that couldn't catch up. I love being underestimated and I love seeing their faces after they've lost to a bike with half the hp
Don't worry Drew, I'll keep a look out for one on trademe for you, you know deep down you really want one
