Give the man some credit. He took away the whole "tyres need changing in 800kms and on top of that I've treated the bike like a princess and only SLOWLY driving around the block with my daughter behind me by the rear seat" blurb. You may as well tell him to buy a moped instead of a blade that's meant for twistys and speed.

Entirely plausible too. I got left behind by a worked Harley off the lights one day on my 600. He just hauled away riding a mountain of torque (and noise). Got him once I hit my power band but he had me worried there for a bit. It wasnt until I rode that Diavel last year that I had an inkling of what a big V-twins acceleration feels like, wayyyy different than any of the sport bikes I have ever ridden, its like your shoulders are about to dislocate.
But from my understanding a Harley needs about 1800cc to be the slightest threat.

A couple of 600 sportsbikes tried to pass me a while ago on lost highway between whangomomona and tunnel....
one managed....just
the other one had to admit defeat.
And that is "only" a 1450cc......
