Haha, yes indeed! One of the photos shows 4 Blackbirds of identical colour and one of them belonged to me. It was taken on a 2007 tour of the south island. The seller knew that the rest of us didn't ride like twats but on the more spirited parts of the tour, he was always at the back to mitigate risk, something we fully accepted

Your mention of the retired judge reminds me of an article I have from a British bike mag. A visiting UK journo got pulled for excessive speed past a mufti car. His day in court was in front of a Ducati - owning judge. There probably aren't too many of them!

So if it rains, doesn't the Blackbird owner then sit in a wet spot until the fluffy seat dries off, presumably the next day, unless it rains overnight?

    (I'm assuming touring here).

some might say that the average Blackbird owner will be wearing Depends so they're always sitting in a puddle of water.... not me though.

I'm mildly relieved that nobody here noticed my car for sale on TM. I hope I can repeat that if I sell my bike.

We saw it. We were just questioning the colour.

colour is ok but looking at other cars on that page, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of money about - not that they may all get what is being asked but people had enough to buy them in the first place.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

I used to have a Lotus Europa in that exact same colour.

I think it got given to a friends kids for thier collection along with a shoebox of other notable classics. But I'd lost interest in cars by then.

So as I've said elsewhere. I haven't had a hardley. Or despite 3 Eyetalian bikes, never a Dooklattery

Best in the world budget bike? 38k seems a snap.

Not sure about his "best in country"? When I was in the Ducati owners, the president owned an NCR. Those things have prices that look like telephone numbers.
