I had a GS550. It was a capable motorcycle and glad it wasn't a CB550 for example. But the love ended there. After a Katana 750 (original) I had a CBX550 which was better than either of them. An the RZ '88 eclipsed them all by a margin.

I brought a GS550EX new, 36000lm in 18 months, was a great bike but off an ZR250 as pretty much my road bike anything would have been, then got a new GPZ550 unitrak.

I came from a TT500. That was humorous, but Trials Universals on the road or at least the wet were a bit dodge. Having said that, 3 bikes back was an XR250A on absolute worn out knobblies, how I never crashed that I don't know.

Yeah I imagine the end product could be good but depends on geometry, by the sounds it isn't a lashup. It's a pity it sounds like it never really got finished like many projects, but that could just be the current owner isn't describing very much. LVV is critical.

I rang that guy about a CB750 he had/has - Seemed like a decent guy. Personally I think he is asking 2021 prices and the economy has moved on. Cars and bikes seem to be slower moving and cheaper than they were then. Not sure how flexible he is on the prices. Touch him up, you now you want one. Or two. Perhaps three.

Embracing mediocrity
I'm usually a bit dubious of 'no test rides', I'd like to hear if it makes any horrid noises (other than the built in Ducati ones) before I start sinking money into inspections etc. A bit like buying from Turners, where the test drive is to the end of the car park and back.
However I'm also considering shedding one of the fleet, and don't like the idea of some fuckwit seeing how fast it goes in first gear on a residential street straight into the side of nana's suzuki swift, so there is the quandary.
Anyway, 'tis a nice looking bike, the optimistic bit is finding someone with money to buy it in the current cost of living crisis.

i think a lot of people dont know how to write an advert, so revert to cliches like that, barn find, only ridden on sundays. etc.
look at how many can't even think to put whether a bike is regoed or even in the system.
