There is some riding training coming up down this way. It is held at Ruapuna however the guy also does proper road craft too.
Recommend that you start here before trying to join with others as an unknown quantity and potential hazard.
If you are short of pennies, the ride out to Little River is flowing so will give you a chance to slowly start to get used to the different riding
