In a word, bullshit. There is more than enough anecdotal evidence of people being done for 11, 12, 13 k's over.

There probably are a few cops out there who do give out tickets for those speeds. However I don't know a single one. All the cops i know won't ticket anyone doing 11k-15k over, unless they draw attention to themselves or are in a residential street.

You've been lucky, I've had customers with 'buyers non-remorse' that ended up in court. It's a lot easier to book 'em for what they were doing or not write the ticket in the first place.

Each to their own. I'm not going to be told who to issue tickets to by any so called policy let alone by grumpy biker ex MOT snakes. I'll stick to judging each case on its merits and hopefully let common sense prevail. It hasn't let me down yet.

Sorry if this has been asked 23 million times before, but just wondering about the whole radar calibration thing. Is it just that little "Due for next service on..." sticker on the top of the scanner that you can try and get out of tickets by checking or is it some other certificate thing?

Ask to see it, or failing that, ask when it was last done and note the reply.

If your nice'n'calm'reasonable I'd show the certificate to you on the spot,
if you're raving like a rabid luntatic I'd tell you to write in and ask for disclosure and then drive off....
