Nah, not really. I ride mainly for the buzz I get from the acceleration and the speed of my bike. I know this is frowned upon by the authorities but that's the way I am. I just can't accept the fact that people will buy a Blackbird/Busa whatever and then claim not to speed. A complete and utter waste and, if true, really does point to the mine is bigger than yours mentality. ital916 says the luggage capacity is good and wind protection is superb. Wahey, the same could be said for a Burgman. Luckily he saves himself by admitting to tearing it up, which is what bikes are for, otherwise we would all be on GN250's.

Yeah I've got a Busa and yes at times I'll ride like a nutter. But for the most part it's akin to walking softly but carrying a big stick. Bit like aiming at a soft target with a .50 cal when a.338 cal would be more than enough

I've always wanted to ride a Hayabusa. I guess you wouldn't stay alive for long if you rode it hard on the roads often.

Well let's be blunt about it...hopefully by the time you ride or own a Busa you'll have amassed sufficient self discipline to survive the experience.

The funny thing is, a Busa or a ZX14 for that matter, are rather docile bikes until you crank the revs up. Being able to crack 200 km/h in 3rd gear is funny, no two ways about it...the only proviso being that you pull that stunt in the right place

It's a split personality bike the bus, mine is a gentle giant up to 5k, after that, it switches into a complete animal. Same with the zx, but same with most thous. I see no point in the modes though, I leave it in full power rain or shine.

Unfortunately, over here, all the cashed up FIFO workers decide they want a bike for their weeks in town, so it's out to buy a Busa...(or an 1198)..Not ZX14's strangely enough. They're everywhere - blitzing the straights and spearing off into trees on the corners......it's all rather sad, really. Whenever a Busa pulls up, you feel yourself thinking....christ, another wanker with an wallet problem.....saw one fall off, pulling out from their park in Toodyay last weekend...nice new white Busa - on to it's side, tossing the rider off the seat onto the road after 2 m's...........

Ok this describes me in some ways as my plans for my 250 where but now been squashed.

My point in this thread was I was tootling along on my GSXR 250 which is fast enough for a sewing machine, when I guy pulls up next to me on a Hayabusa. Ok so he had all the kit, matching riding gear all stamped and pretty even his helmet and boots. Very nice but a bit pretentious. Off the mark he nailed me to the ground and took. First corner I passed him?????? He rode the clutch and dropped down to about 20km and hour WTF??

So my question as a fairly new rider is:

Is this normal? Will I be plagued with guys with more dollars but no sense as I learn to ride better?

Their money their choice, I don't get why people get so fired up about it. If someone wants to putter round on a Litre plus bike that's up to them. Why is it any concern of yours?
