Needs a few things, but damn... it's so frikken quick compared to the 250RR!

A few questions to the good citizens of KB-land...

    1) It needs a new rear. Currently it's got D208s on it, and it handles nice but the rear has f**k all tread left. The front is OK for now, so I'll do the rear first. What tires would you recommend running? I was thinking of sticking with the 208s cos they feel nice. Anyone know what they wear like?

    2) There's a distinct noise from the cam chain. I plan on changing it pretty damn soon, but I someone told me it's normal and all '9R B models do it. Were they full of it or am I going to change the chain and find that it's just the same?
    Hey mate,

I have a 97 ZX9R B4, and mine has that chain sound aswell - Mechanic said its fine, but I may look at doing something about it anyway.
I upgraded to mine from a FXR-150, so I know what you mean about power differences.
Any questions, feel free to ask me, I have found out quite a bit about the B model bikes since I have owned mine.

    Cheers

Nice bike there mate, only one colour for a Kawka and thas the one your's is
Nothing wrong with 208's but the 218's are pretty good, just a few abnormal wear issues (nothing to do with the rider of course), Michelin Pilot Powers are the shit in my books, even though i'm running Avon Vipers at the mo, but Bridgie 014's are a excellent tyre.
You should come for a get to know your new bike ride on Sat down 22.
