    Time to get the Yoshi exhaust re coated.
    Gone with ceramic coating from pro coat, waiting for it to be finished.

    The muffler had bugger all packing left inside, need to find some new stuff.
    Any ideas?

    and this what was left of the muffler packing.... no wonder it was loud.

    The bits you haven't seen before are quite common, balances the pulses between the exhaust headers for some technowizardry reason.
    Usually done a bit tidier than that, maybe someones home job...
    Measure end can length in inches then search the online bike stores for exhaust repack kits, go for a pillow one, so much easier.
    Yoshi side covers available as commonly as the exhausts.

    Ive seen them like that on stock bikes of that era, held on with little springs.

    those little cans are what makes a Yoshi duplex exhaust system so good in the mid range as well as the top end range.
    Have you found the rest of the baffle tube?
