Dold Industries import Arai stuff. They are based in Hamilton. They won't sell direct but will steer you towards your nearest stockist.

I use an iceblock stick instead of a screwdriver to reduce the chance of scratching/damage.

Why would you buy a second hand helmet?

Its like using someones used condom!!

Exactly what I was thinking. You have no idea what it's been through. My last helmet was replaced after a minor off. It could no longer be trusted. No visible damage to the helmet other than a few scratches but the visor was toast.

I've heard sad stories about people breaking the side pod thingies and at least one of them was more mechanically gifted than am I.
There are a lot of those YouTube clips, study them well. Put the helmet on a table about waist height facing away from you and go to work. Carefully.
Use your hands so that the visor is pushed inward as well as down. You don't want to lever the pods off with the visor.

I was almost paranoid about changing visors but have now done it uneventfully several times - so far so good. (Fingers crossed.)

Can't do it like that Nicky Haden clip yet though.

I have never had a problem changing an Arai visor. Can be done in a matter of seconds if you know how. Like the man said, study the video. But it ain't difficult.
