It's amazing that they even have to ask this

This is scary shit. I know that we share the road with some congenital idiots, and so apparently do the police and the other emergency services. The Police would appear to be in a position to do something about it but...

The truly terrifying thing though is the two schoolgirls on the pedestian crossing. If they wouldn't give way to a fire engine with lights and siren operating, what chance they'll give way to a motorbike now that they are likely driving mum's SUV?

    This scares you?

Have you noticed the skid marks on the nearest motorway, to your current position?

I have no faith in any other person and their ability to control the most basic function, until they demonstrate to me that I should.

You have to understand that life is a hologram, it's all computer controlled. Other people are ,mainly, small subroutines. The computer that runs the known universe can only do so much, not enough RAM for everyone. That's the reason that other road users (and others) appear stupid, they don't really exist.

Well, it makes sense to me.
The perversity of the universe tends towards a maximum

Those girls are no different to any motorcyclist I know of ... they are selective in which law/legislation they choose to obey at any given time .....

And VERY selective in the laws/legislation they want ALL others to obey at the SAME given time ...

And any laws / legislation they find "inconvenient" ... they'll just ignore/forget ...

The girls may have been told about their "rights" on pedestrian crossings ... but not on the rules regarding emergency vehicles ... and their Parents may not even know them ...

This has absolutely nothing to do with laws. Hell, I've run a red light twice to let an ambulance through. Once I did 80kph in a 50 in front of a cop because there was no way to move over. All three times I got a salute from the emergency vehicle's passenger.

The problem is that most people don't know right from wrong (as opposed to what the law says). They only have a sense of entitlement.

It looks like someone has had fun doing donuts down the Christchurch southern motorway.

Drew, No motorways out here on the rural rump.

FJ Rider, That starts out like you are quoting one of my earlier posts about my philosophy

swbarnett, That entitlement thing is relatively new but is now widespread. Of course, the politicians are leading the charge...

Akzle, Interesting, what colour is your fire truck?

It's not a sense of entitlement ... they just think they know their rights. Any rules regarding giving way to emergency vehicles are not that well publicized ... Many driving for years aren't aware of them.

But you have been on a motorway?

I shake my head a lot as I notice the black lines that run to the barriers and bounce off. I cannot fathom how so many people just can't drive.
