My bike only does 140 on the flat. I pretty much just ride how I feel like at the time, sometimes I cruise sometimes I go a bit faster.

I usually keep to 110-120, on the open road it might creep up a bit but i like my licence too much to push it too far past that, However with a little peer presure i tend not to pay attention to the speedo

about 110 to 115 generally... depends on conditions but I'm a workaday commuter... it's fun to go for a strop every now and then but day to day - about 110 or so.

100 to 130 depending on the road, my mood, phase of the moon, state of the tides and what the chicken entrails said that morning.
Oh, and how thin the thin blue line is.
Maybe a bit faster on the open road.

Yeah, that's it. It says 100 mph. I go everywhere at that speed. I have to.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Arrow Every day riding?

I'll happily sit on 100-110km/h. Its only when I want to keep up with others that I might bother doing more. However in saying this, I tend not to bother and ride at my own pace.

I know my RG150 could do at least 123k because that's what I got pinged for along the Himatangi Straights! I saw 165 on the speedo once, but the speedos weren't that accurate so I'd say 150 would have been more like it.

The BMW is a bit of a trouble maker, it is so smooth that it is very easy to see 170 after overtaking and think "shit, I don't want to walk home!"

But the Goose? Well, for a start it's a naked bike so the faster you go, the more you feel like you're about to be blown off the back, so I tend to cruise at 110-120 most of the time. It's only just run in so I haven't really tried seeing how fast it will go yet. As it's only a 350 I don't imagine warp speed nine will be achievable, possibly about 140-150 tops.

I mostly ride by myself so I have to keep an eye on my speed if there is no other traffic around. I don't ride like an idiot (not skilled enough ) and I am really broke right now so I don't want to pay any money to the government that I don't have to!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Around town - Within or very close to the legal limit.
Motorway - Maybe just a little faster than the legal limit - traffic/mood dependent.
Open road - Normaly around 120-130. Again traffic/hazard dependant.
Open road - No traffic/visible hazards at all for a fair distance (animals, side roads, 4 x 4's etc), excellent road/weather conditions, in need of a thrill - pick a number.

Just got back from a blast up to wellsford and back to auckland. (phoned in sick). Couldn't waste this weather, and needed to put some kays on the gsxr since I only got it at the start of winter and haven't had a chance to stretch its legs.
Empty roads and beautiful weater ment that I saw numbers that would have serious implications if caught by PC plod (probably resulting in a trip to the big house). The only excuse is that i can! and the roads were very quite and i only pushed the envelope when i had lots of clear vision and road.

End result, acceleration is alot more fun then speed, particular at autobahn levels, and as a last nod at lawfulness, in general i keep to the 50kph when required but find the gixxer is alot happier to cruise at 110 then 100 on the open road/motorway, and would wish LTNZ would up the speed limit to 110K, like most other countries.

Big Ups to all the other bikers out today who all waved or nodded when the gixxer blatted by, cheers - keep it rubber side down.

how bout a gsxr600 or something a little bit bigger? I am just curious how hard it is to get away from the cops my bike wont exactly make it easy for me, unless its peak hour traffic or we are in the domain or something...
