This seems to be slowly changing, the courts are more open to a good counter-argument and the quota issue could well be seen as a vested interest.

However, in reality the cop quite often DO have a vested interest....it is called "achieving the 'performance measurement'"

some people might call it 'quota'....

All you speeders out there, don't you know speeding is bad? When you overtake a SUV full of kids at the back, do you ever stop to think about what kind of example you are setting for them?.. NO, you don't do you?! For god sakes, will someone think of the children?!
Children...HUH!!...buggar the children....what about the kittens.......I'm doin it for the kittens....

Speeding huh....well....I do....regular the 180-200 bracket on my personal road race circut that no one else has found....I don't think....and I usually cruze there 110-120 pass all these mufti cops all over the wairarapa at the moment...I don't have enuff demerits left to squander them at the moment!!

And if there are cops lurking here for that purpose, they really need to get a fucking life and go catch a burglar. Either that or keeping wanking over the porn on their PC.
I'd rather wank over the porn on my p.c. than read about people that wank on this site!!

    Nice troll!

And for you paranoid twats benefit, had a guy who I stopped tonight tell me
quite openly how his modified CBR1000 he was riding would do a 170+ mph, (yes, proper speed measurement), I guess he had a more realistic approach to life and speed (well more realistic than wondering and stressing about the Police will some how 'do' him for revealing what speed he has done on the road)

BTW, where DO you find porn on a p.c.?

Lighten up SD. Maybe my remark about being 'paranoid' was the incorrect term, I do realise the chances of anything happening are incredibly remote. Stressing about it, wouldn't think so.

Do a search on your pc for files *.mpg, *.avi, or *wmv. Should bring up most movie files!

At least if some coppers are reading posts on here and waiting for us we get the last laugh when they still cant catch us....loosers , i d love to see one of them Bema's they ride scratching around the hills in hot pursuit of a R1 SD would have beta luck on his hog....

at the end of the day anyone who has a large capacity sports bike will or has speed on the open road, it might not be the safest place in the world but it beats the hell out of doing it through town like the boi racers do...and for the record i have seen 314 on the r1, i dont think it was a genuine 314, but it was passing a thou that was pinned at 299, but for me the thrill is corner speed and wheelies

Found the same thing at the track Aaron, the straight was boring. The real fun was the infield, corners, braking, accelerating etc. More fun than just top end.

120-130 kph in bursts, but most of the times its 110.......

I don't have any 'general' answer i can give you to this ..... how fast i go always depends on stuff like road conditions, time of day, weather, traffic, whether i know the road, likelyhood of marauding plod, etc. ........... mmmm and the speed limit of course.

    I know that's probably not a satisfactory answer - sorry ...

Not trying to hijack the thread ---- but does anyone else think it's daft that we have the same speedlimit for a road irrespective of the prevailing weather conditions etc.? I noticed they didn't in France --- thought it was suuuuuuuch a sensible idea.

normally around 80-90, cause i just ride to and from work/school/church/friends house, which is all within like 10k, and 80k max roads. I hate the stupid 50k zone coming into the town center, and the 60k zone past shell/bp. They suck, specially since it seems like im the only one obeying(kinda) those signs.

In traffic i go with the flow.

    Motor way, 110

Back roads, my bike doesnt really like to go much faster than 120k, but im sweet with that, i get my thrills from cornering, Moto GP Style.

And yes my license is Blue, but having ridden bikes since 7yo off road, and 17yo on road I'd like to think my skills were up there (if not skills my cockyness... ), My beleif in my skills is re-inforced that despite me pushing it often ive yet to have a lie down on a road bike... but as for the license... Just been too damn lazy to upgrade.

Been pulled over once on a bike, but i was doing somthing damn stupid at the time, so i got one ticket for an "unsafe passing manouvre" but got off the ticket for not having an L plate, instead he ticketed me for "Riding Unaccompanied on a Learners"!! needless to say a quick trip to the library and a photo copy of a page in the Road Code was all i needed to embaress one officer and get off one of the two fines.
