    Prorider were going to have a course in Taupo, was to be the 1st of March but no go. For that you would need $20, a bike that is wof and rego, safety gear and your learners.

    Get your learners, Basic course is easy enough to do blind but won't teach you anything. You have to do the training through track day, IAM or Prorider. Yes a paddock will do but seriously how good do you want to be.

    Naturally goood at things is awesome but don't take it for granted, a motorbike is not a mountain bike so reacts different (ie you can accelrate a full lean on a motorbike, not many mountain bikes you can pedal at this stage).

    Anyway good luck.

    There used to be a guy who did the BHS at the funeral home car park. Heard he also did some training or at least let people practise. The AA would know and asking at the bike shops is a good idea.

    Also you could look up Chris Smith, Grant Gibb or Western Bay Riding on the NZTA BHS website. I did some training with Chris and Grant in South AKL and Hamilton, but they mentioned they might be able to come to Taupo for training. One of my friends did some training with Western Bay Riding in Rotorua.

    If you're looking for a cheap but well looked after bike then let me know. My VT250FG will be for sale soon and will come with 6 months reg and wof when I sell it, so hopefully no major expenses for the first 6 months of ownership.

    Quick update;

    So a guy is coming to check out my car and potentially trade his '95 250v Bandit. Really hoping it all works out as this would mean I wouldn't have to worry about getting the bike from another part of the country.

    Have someone who knows about bikes there. The Bandit can be a great bike, and generally have the same easily sorted issues. Any of which can see you getting a better deal.

    I wouldn't worry about the pre basic handling leason, as long as you can use the clutch to start and get into second you're gold. It's a total joke.

    You should get some training at some point though, the ride forever bronze looks good.
