Cat's could say... Psychokiller
me too, but may not be happening if the weather doesn't improve. Don't have any wet weather gear so hypothermia is possible if I'm not careful.
Bugger that.. I do hammy to new plymouth semi regularly (every 1-2 months), did it in full wet weather ger in a raging southerly a few months ago, and I was still wet and cold by the end of the ride (Longjohns, leather pants, waterproof overtrou, long sleeve T, teknics jacket, waterproof overjacket).. Worst part was finding my gloves were far from waterproof.. even with polyprop gloves under my bike gloves my hands were so freaking sore from the cold.
That being said i'd still do it again![]()

Keep warm. Keep as dry as you can. If you get cold it becomes dangerous as you lose concentration. If it's cold and wet it's worse.
Stop often to have a snack and a drink.
If you get really tired, stop - either for the night or for a bit of a rest.
Wear earplugs.
Let us know when you're leaving so we can keep an eye on the weather.
Enjoy!

Being frustrated is disagreeable.
But the real disasters in life begin when you get what you want.
I did that trip just after queens birthday weekend. Greast ride. Took the lil ninja for a run. 3 and a half hours and $16 in petrol, $18 in hot food and $630 in fines. Not a bad day out.

Thats not bad mate, what sort of bike do you have?
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
