"I want what all men want, I want more" Troy, (or something like that). That I think pretty much sums up the why of the litre bike ownership.

Wink L+ bikes are more than just hoon machines

Have not read the rest of this, but I'll give you my reasons why I like "Roxanne" the CBR1000F.

    1. She's great over long distances.
    2. She doesn't mind a pillion.
    3. She'll carry the kitchen sink and not complain.
    4. Yet she will still go around the twisties OK on the days I join other riders on a day hoon.
If I was buying a bike for just day hoons or track time, then I would have bought a 600 or 750 full racing type bike (or tried harder to find another VFR750 like the one I had before "Roxanne").

If I really wanted to get a prick enlargeing bike, I buy something totally stupid and unpractical like a "Rocket" or a "Boss Hog". Then again, I love to play with a Blackbird or Busa just for the hell of it

I've got a little correlation to this thread.

If you put a 1980 Mitsubishi Mirage Hatch in front of me - I won't wanna drive it.
    A 1992 Toyota Celica - I won't wanna drive it.
    A 2000 Mitusbishi Galant - I won't wanna drive it.
A 2004 Luxury model Mercedes - Now you've started getting my attention.
    A 2005 HumVee - I'll take that for a drive.
A Ferrari ENZO - Just give it to me.

    Now the Bike equivalent.

    A 1990 ZXR 250 - I won't wanna ride it.
    A 1997 CBR400 - I won't wanna ride it.
    A 2004 CBR600 - Now you've started getting my attention.
    A 2005 GSXR1000 - I'll take that for a ride!
A 2005 MV Auguta thou - Just give it to me.

    Comprende?

    Power = Fun.
Bigger = More Power = More Fun!

    Being able to ride=fun

    that means

ZXR250 = Fun (great for going around the outside of SV1000S)
CBR400 = Fun (able to stay infront of SV1000S)

Power for fun just means your not having fun in the corners...

Ultimate fun is being able to push a 1000cc bike in the corners AND utilising the power...

Good One Two smoker! You have the Mitsubishi Mirage then!

ZXR 250 into WGTN galeforce headwinds - Not fun, not pleasant at all infact.
SV1000S into WGTN Galeforce headwind - No worries - Still having fun.
    Why... More Power!!!

ACTUALLY THE SOURCE OF ONE OF THEM PICS SAID THE BLADE WAS , SLOW , FAT AND DIDNT HAVE VERY SHARP HANDLING , AND A NEW PAINT JOB WAS NOT ENOUGH TO IMPRESS THEM . THIS BIKE WOULD BE GOOD FOR YOU INLINE AS YOU DONT NEED THE PERFORMANCE EDGE

    Power is addictive.
I sold the 12 due to handling deficiencies, but I still have fond memories of the 330kph runs and going sideways outta corners at 160k and hooking her up into a wheelie at 180kph in second......(I really miss the old tank)
The Turbo is totally unmanageable, yet I have it in bits looking for even more hp.
Lastly,as LB pointed out I'm having trouble keeping a few of the lads in sight now,the friggin thous leave me for dead outta corners, even with the 750 rev counter planted firmly in the red all the time.
If I keep riding as I do now I'm gonna have to get one too, just to keep up.

Well obviously you need me to come down and show you how much fun i can have on my RG150 with Loosebruce on a ZXR250.... and in a head wind my RG150 still does 180kmh (on the speedo)

Also as you can see in my name i have a K5 GSX-R600 which has MORE power than a desiel of a SV1000S....

But do you know what!!!???? Who gives a fuck, we like bikes and bikes are fun to ride no matter what size they are.... Loosebruce had a blast on a ZXR250 and loved it even though he raves on about his 1000...

i totally agree with the correlation. i may not be a good driver but it would be my dream to have an enzo. so why wouldn't this apply to bikes? It is very true that i don't need a thou....but i want one. i will never own an enzo or humvee but a K5 is not out of my reach. People keep on telling me that i'm going get myself killed if i get a litre bike but yet i see lot of lively litre bike riders so i'm thinking this "dead litre bike rider" thing is just an urban legend. hahahahaha!!
