i thought he was making a comeback this year at the gncc.

only saw a couple of his dirtwise vid's where he was definitely gearing up for racing.

from an interview in jan 2014:

"So, to keep with that theme we're going to the next level of promotions in 2014 by now having the "Getting DirtWise" web series, which actually has Episode 1 going live today, and it will not only showcase the inner workings of the DirtWise Race team, but also my intention to return to the Pro ranks and have another crack at going for the Overall victory at a GNCC!"

will do a proper google later.

Shane was 1st in Sportsman class in the Morning, was great watching his comeback video series, gutsy guy. Not sure what happened to Jason Thomas though, hope he's ok & it was a mechanical.

Nice to see Paul leading lap 4

Bad race for the Kiwis. Another Mudder.

Whibley 15th drops to 5th overall.
Mead 16th drops to 4th overall.

The positive was May with a 7th, now 6th overall.

I saw a comment hoping Mead was OK so sounds like a crash. Hope he is good.

Callan's Race report, hope Rory is ok,

    GNCC RD.3

Round 3 brought us to North Carolina this time at Steele creek moto park about 2hrs north of where I have been living.

We arrived on Saturday in the pouring rain thinking great third muddy race in a row. The rain stopped on Saturday afternoon and stayed away for our race. The track was still filled with bogs and ruts. I didn't get a good start at all, once I shook the arm pump I managed to put my head down and start picking guys off. I was in 9th going into the last lap with 2 guys ahead in sight, I managed to pass them and come in 7th overall in XC2 so was happy with that.

Unfortunately Rory Mead didn't have the best day with a last lap crash and off to hospital, so thoughts going out to him. Hope your allgood bro !

    Cheers for all the support back home ! @yamahanz @graphiccreation @bikesportnz @flyracingusa

    From facebook:

From Carrie Watts: for those of you who have heard, Maxxis Tires/KLiM/Dirtwise Academy racer Rory Mead was injured at Rd 3 of the GNCC today. He was airlifted from the track is currently being evaluated for fractured vertebrae at a TN hospital. Doctors expect to perform surgery in the next hour to determine the full extent of injuries. Rory has no feeling in his lower extremities at this time but our team is hopeful. Wattsy is at the hospital with Rory's girlfriend awaiting news. Please keep Rory in your thoughts and prayers and send all positive vibes his way. Thank you all for your continued support.

    And someone else from facebook:
Prayers for Rory Mead - bad crash at Steele Creek GNCC. He was flown to hospital and will undergo surgery tonight for fractured C5 & C6. Pray for God's hand in this and I will post updates as I know them.

    Hopefully Rory pulls through this.
