    Riding this weekend? Maybe not!

By and large, living on the Coromandel Peninsula is pretty sweet with the Coro Loop less than 5 minutes from home but when the weather packs up, it can be a complete bastard . Bike is staying in the shed with ex-cyclone Lusi bearing down on us and it's a safe bet that the power will be off for part of the weekend and there will be slips blocking parts of the loop - we were cut off last year on two occasions. It's getting pretty windy up here right now so everything is tied down with the exception of the cats - let's hope the roof stays on as we're a bit exposed to an easterly. There's beauty in stormy weather though and I took the attached photo from our deck at dawn. It will look a whole world different at dawn tomorrow!

Pfffft, I've just fettled the trailie for some siren chasing tomorrow.
Might go take a gander at the swell in the Bay, always a good indicator of storm intensity. If it's pumping now it will be a hoolie.

Same as you I've stowed everything, put me seedlings in, might as well use the free water, got the candles and torches out. Just need to get some beersies.

Not nice having to steer a van into the wind. Put some paving stones in it.

My $25 Prorider course for tomorrow has been postponed too...to a date I can't do (and no more till next summer). Stupid cyclone!

They usually fizzle out for Auckland, wonder if this one will too...
Moe: Well, I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt. I mean not that fancy store bought dirt. That stuffs loaded with nutrients. I...I can't compete with that stuff.

Marshalling at Hampton Downs tomorrow... (or not) for an Advanced Rider Training day. Hope the riders bring their water wings and we'll see what happens.

Think I might weight the back of the ute down, depends on what the weather is like tomorrow...

    Thumbs up

Doing the Mail Run classic ride from Taupo to Napier this Saturday. Riding a 1929 James....slowly...as it can only do 43MPH...off a cliff. Should be a hoot

Ah, "Turn, turn you bitch", the tropical Queensland prayer!

We've had two cyclones this year, they both finally turned away just north of us so we didn't get more than a day or so of 100 km/hr winds, some heavy rain and some flooding during the first one. Mind this one headed your way started up near Fiji so it's had ages over warm water to pick up some energy, and rain.

Keep your heads down. Thinking of you, well actually thinking of our investment property, but all the best for you all as well.

Bit of a swell starting to pick up, not as much as I expected TBH. Not sure of sea direction though. Breaking on the Black Rocks further out which always means it's just gonna get lumpier the further out you get. Apparently the fish are biting like crazy! What do they know?
Just starting to get a bit breezy as I came home with a couple of rain dots on me visor.
Got stung on my eyebrow 2 minutes after I left the house. Bloody bees.

Stayed tuned for our next update & breaking news.

That will be me. I would have thought it to be prudent to re-schedule this one.
